Instagram doesn’t let you pick a font for your bio or captions — but that hasn’t stopped Korean Instagram from looking effortlessly aesthetic. The trick is knowing which kind of “Korean font” to use where.
There are two kinds:
- Copy-and-paste text for places where you can’t change the font (bio, captions, comments, usernames). It’s made of Unicode characters, so it keeps its look anywhere.
- Real Korean fonts for things you design yourself: Story graphics, Reels covers, carousel posts and highlight covers.
This guide covers both.
Copy-and-paste Korean styles for your bio
These work directly in the Instagram app — tap Copy and paste into your bio or caption.
Want your own name or words in these styles? Type them into the generator — English and Japanese kana are converted to Hangul automatically.
The best Korean fonts for Story graphics and Reels covers
When you make a graphic in Canva, CapCut, Photoshop or Procreate, you can use a real font. These are the Hangul fonts that read well on a phone screen and match the Korean Instagram look.

Do Hyeon 도현체

Quick tips for Korean text on Instagram
- Keep it short. Korean is dense — two or three words on a Reels cover is plenty.
- Pair two fonts at most. A bold title font with a clean body font (Pretendard or Gowun Dodum) always works.
- Mind the line height. Hangul needs a little more space between lines than English, around 1.5–1.7.
- Export as PNG. On every font card on this site you can download your text as a transparent PNG and drop it straight into your Story.
Why do some characters show up as boxes?
If your copy-paste text shows □ on some phones, that device is missing a font for a symbol. Hangul and hearts work almost everywhere; very rare decorative symbols can fail on older Android phones. Stick to the styles above and you’re safe.
